The Eternal Conflict of a Creative Mind

36" h x 44" w
Acrylic on Masonite Panel

Private Collection

An artist’s drive is to create, but the artist
also faces the practical side of life. Even Leonardo da Vinci had to pay the bills.
Leonardo conceived radical ideas, like a
flying machine (which was fantastic at the
time, but later proved to be practical).
He also took commissions like the
Last Supper (which was practical at the
time, but turned out to be fantastic).

In this painting, the windmill is the
practical,
the dragon kite is the
fantastic, and the artist is the wind
that struggles with both.
